Care.com - Another Babysitter Finder
As long as I’m on this topic this week, I thought I’d add another one of these "find a sitter" options. Haven’t used them, but the site offers not only help to find a sitter, but a pet sitter, tutors and even housekeepers.
Similar to others posted in this category, the model is to pay a monthly fee (in this case minimum of $25/mo) but what’s nice about this company is you get free backgound checks included in that fee. A free membership will only allow you to search and see limited info (no contact info) but permits you to post some jobs.
I admit, I like the way this is set up - though I have no idea if the sitters are high quality or not. They give you an easy way to see who lives near you, how old they are, their yrs of experience and how much they charge. Its easy to use. If anyone tries it, pls leave comments so we can all learn from your experience.
I have used care.com and found the nanny that now watches my 7 month old son. She is an amazing lady and I would recomment the site to anyone. I would for sure spend the money to get the membership so you can view the nannies backround check results and reference phone numbers. The site was easy to cancel once i emailed them and told them i had found a nanny.
As for your question about the quality of nannys. The girl that watchs my son is amazing she just graduated college with her early childhood developement two year degree. She has worked as a nanny a couple timed before as well as in church daycares where i spoke with lady that hired her and did her backround checks and everyone had nothing but wonderful things to say about her. She is wonderful with my son and isnt to expensive either. I love being able to come home from work and my son already be feed, bathed, and in his pjs…that way i get to just read him a book and relax with him before his bedtime.
So, As for my experience it was wonderful with care.com and i will for sure be using it again once my nanny decides she wants to go back and finish her schooling.
