Welcome to San Diego Mom. We learn about local resources from friends and family, playgroup meetings, in grocery store lines, even in doctor's office waiting rooms and we share them with each other every day. San Diego Mom is a way we can share new ideas, our best kept local secrets and provide honest feedback on things we've tried.
The majority of posts will be about resources close to or near Carmel Valley. But, you'll note I provide many links to sites with city-wide coverage so we can keep tabs of online resources that can help us plan for activities, events, etc. away from home.

My name is Jennie Starr and I am a mother of 2 living in the Carmel Valley area in North County. I started this blog in November, 06 as research for a column I was writing on blogging. I had always wanted to figure out a way to share the various parenting resources I've learned about with friends and a blog seemed the ideal format.
I have a legal and product management background with 12 years of experience working with software companies. I am currently a stay at home mom doing part-time work with small business clients and writing a bi-monthly technology column for Searcher Magazine .
