Lomas Santa Fe Country Club

Tennis

This Country Club offers tennis and for children offers camps and lessons for non-members.  Located in Solana Beach off of Lomas Santa Fe near San Dieguito Park we’ve taken swim lessons here for years and I really like the club.  Nice people, well managed.  I haven’t had personal experience with their tennis club, but still recommend you give it a try.

Call them at: 858-755-4090

It looks like their web site with information is for members only, so if you’re not a member you need to use the phone.  http://www.lomassantafecc.com/

North County Doubles Womens Conference

Tennis

A friend plays with this League and likes it a lot.  There are teams from Carmel Valley, SantaLuz, Lomas Santa Fe, and more.  There are inland and coastal divisions for convenience.  http://www.ncdtl.com/ has all the info on rules for the league, etc.  You need 12 on your roster to enter a team.  Players have to be 18 or older.

North County Tennis League

Staying Fit, Tennis

This organization offers to set up matches for singles and doubles play in the North County area.  I don’t have any personal experience with the organization.  But, it seems like a great way to connect with players.

Near Here - List of Date Ideas

I just stumbled across this site and its pretty impressive!  This link gives some amazing date night ideas for San Diegans.  I can’t wait to try some of them!

http://www.nearhere.com/dates/

Among the suggestions are things like: the Gondola cruise in Coronado (I’ve done this, very fun to see the georgeous homes along the water in the long gondolas), Irish folk lessons in Balboa park to making chocolates in Chuao in Carlsbad.

This is also a great site for other topics:

They provide an amazing list of running trails, tennis courts, outdoor side trips from town for hiking, surfing, and more.

The site’s owners Terry and Dave do a good job of providing reviews/descriptions and invite others to join in.  The site has a ton of potential.  I highly recommend bookmarking it and visiting often to check on what’s new.

Carmel Valley Tennis

I have no personal experience with this organization, but have been thirsting to get back to a regular tennis game.  I love to play and its been years since I’ve been able to play regularly.  http://www.carmelvalleytennis.net/

If I understand what happened correctly, we used to have public courts that were free by the rec center here in Carmel Valley.  When the Parks Department was having trouble financially, I guess they looked for someone to take over the courts commercially.  A local tennis shop stepped in and they have turned the courts into a bit of a center with lessons, leagues, etc.  They also offer adult and youth clinics which are essentially group lessons.  Reserving a court now costs money - $10/hr for residents slightly higher for non-residents.

Now I just need to figure out how to find tennis partners!
